A legal news update from your ATE Insurance provider
A legal news update from your ATE Insurance provider
‘Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat...’

Well not anymore. Increasingly we are aware of the struggle Personal Injury lawyers are experiencing in a challenging PI sector. This year we have seen a number of high profile closures and consolidation in the industry and no doubt there will be more to come.

The Government is pressing ahead with the whiplash reforms which now look almost certain to come into effect in April 2020. This will no doubt heap further pressure on PI solicitors,
but that is something we have all become used to in recent years.
So what sort of future do we see? Well, Solicitors are a clever bunch. No one is going down without a fight.

We are already seeing firms diversifying into different areas of litigation. The skills learnt in handling a personal injury claim are not that dis-similar to litigation relating to a housing disrepair claim or a mortgage mis-selling case. Lawyers are busy gaining knowledge in new areas and often then ask us – ‘Are we able to provide After the Event Insurance cover?’

The answer I am pleased to say is a resounding yes. We have moved with our clients and are now able to offer over 35 different ATE Insurance policy types across a whole
range of legal areas, many specifically developed in conjunction with firms.

We are always open to discuss new ideas with firms so if you have ideas then give us a call.

Season’s Greetings to you all.
